What the heck does that mean? Maybe I should say, take responsibility for your weight. When battling the poundage we tend to find a million things to blame it on. Perhaps you’ve used some of these in the past (or present)

  • It’s PMS week, I have an extra 5 pounds on
  • The food is in front of me, I have to eat it
  • Not my fault, there are hidden calories in the sauces
  • I had no idea pasta was so high in calories

I’m sure we could all add a dozen lines to that list! Well here’s the reality, people make themselves overweight. I know, it doesn’t sound very sympathetic, but it’s the truth. Barring a real doctor diagnosing you with a medical problem, we get fat because we eat too much. So stop it!

Take ownership of your weight. You are in control of yourself, not the food. The food doesn’t jump off the plate and force it’s way into your stomach, now that would be a real problem! Once you are honest with yourself, you will be empowered to control your weight to whatever degree you choose.

Do it one step at a time, one day at a time, but be honest with yourself. Each of us has to deal with the dreaded weigh in, oh yeah, I forgot to add the scale to the excuse list, it’s way off! When you face the scale, you are facing yourself and the decisions you made the day before. So take ownership today and reap the rewards tomorrow!
